STUDENT ATTENDANCE POLICY
The State of New York requires every student to attend school every day unless he/she has a legal excuse.
Please see link for the Yonkers Public Schools Attendance Policy, in the Code of Conduct Document.
If your child must stay home for an illness, you must contact the main office by 9:00AM to alert the school of their absence. In the event of an absence, a written excuse for the day(s) of absence(s) is required. The note should include the student's full name and must be signed and dated by the parent/guardian. In the event that your child is absent for 3 days, a written doctor's note should be submitted.
Early dismissal is not advisable. Any parent who must pick up their child before the end of the school day because of an emergency must call and alert the main office before 11:00 am and send in a written note.
Vacations outside of the Yonkers Public Schools Calendar are not approved and will be recorded as unexcused absences.
Parents are asked to make appointments before or after school hours, to optimize instructional time. No student will be dismissed after 2:45pm as it interferes with dismissal.
Please send in absence notes to the main office or email to the Power School Clerk, Ms. Cardona at MCardona@yonkerspublicschools.org
School phone number: 914-376-8570
Thank you for your continued support.
