Hello! My name is Kathy Iurato. I live in Yorktown Heights with my family. I have a rescue dog named Zeus, and a bengal cat named Neko. I also have a bunch of chickens too! I love to paint, read, and garden.

     I have been teaching in Yonkers Public Schools since 2001. For the past 13 years, I have taught Kindergarten at Casimir Pulaski School. Teaching is my passion. I absolutely love teaching new things to my students. It is so wonderful to see how much they grow from the first day of school. At this age, students will learn about shapes, colors, numbers, and so much more. They will also begin to learn how to read and write! Technology is also used in all academic areas.

     I believe that socialization is very important in Kindergarten. In my class, students are encouraged to interact with their peers throughout the day. Students also have fun singing new songs, painting, drawing, using puzzles, using manipulatives, and playing games.  Kindergarten is a great learning experience. It prepares the child in a positive and fun way for future educational experiences.
