"To teach is to touch lives forever" -Anonymous From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher! I was fortunate enough to have several teachers touch my life in from kindergarten through high school. I have been teaching for over 20 years for NYC Public Schools and Yonkers. I have been teaching in Yonkers since 2001. I started teaching at Paideia 24 in 2002. At Paideia 24, I have taught kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade. I am currently teaching 2nd grade. I love to infuse technology into my classroom's daily teaching.
Dear 2nd Grade Families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. It is great to have us all back in person for learning. This past year and half has brought about many changes due to the global pandemic. We have and continue to successfully navigate through these unprecedented times. We do this as a unified “Team”(students/teachers/parents/school).
Our class goal this year is to create a valuable, nurturing, and rigorous learning experience. As a unified “Team” we are following class routines and are working hard to meet academic expectations and our class goal. Together we will successfully meet this goal by the end of this school year.
Currently, we use ClassDojo to communicate, unite and bring us closer together. Messages, reminders, participation and anything else of importance will be recognized using ClassDojo. This is a two-way platform. Should you have any questions, comments and/or concerns you may reach out using ClassDojo or firstname.lastname@example.org. Coming soon we will be using "SeeSaw" a platform you may be familiar with from 1st grade.
Teaching is delivered in person. Lunch is everyday at 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. There will be a 15 minute mask break in the morning and afternoon outside---weather permitting.
Our specials are as follows:
Thursday-Sub 1(Ms. James)-10:20-10:50
Looking forward to continue to working together as a UNFIED “TEAM to successful finish the school year strong, As always, thank you very much for your support.
