[REMINDER] PTA Executive Board Meeting TOMORROW May 8th 2025
The next PEARLS PTA Executive Board meeting will take place TOMORROW, Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the PEARLS Cafeteria. Please enter through the breezeway.
All families are welcome to attend.
Please make sure to update your calendars with the PTA meeting schedule we previously sent out.
If you have any questions you’d like addressed during the meeting, we encourage you to submit them in advance via email to pta-pearls@yonkerspublicschools.org. While we will take questions during the meeting, submitting them beforehand will help us group similar inquiries together, saving time.

Our Gift to the PEARLS 8th Grade Graduating Class of 2025
The PEARLS PTA would like to present the PEARLS Hawthorne 8th Grade Graduating Class of 2025 with a special graduation yard sign!
This sign is to be displayed at your convenience to mark your success, accomplishments, and upcoming graduation from 8th grade at PEARLS Hawthorne School. We hope this sign serves as a symbol of all your hard work and dedication.
You can proudly display your sign outside using the provided stakes or place it in a window to celebrate from indoors - whatever works best for your space! On behalf of the PEARLS PTA, we congratulate you, 8th Grade Graduating Class of 2025! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you’ll accomplish in the future. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors and continued success!

We need MORE volunteers to help during the Book Fair. Thank you to the volunteers who have already signed up!
The Scholastic BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) Book Fair will run from May 12 - May 16, from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm Mon, Tue and Thu, and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday and Friday.

📚 Save the Date for our Spring BOGO Book Fair!
The Scholastic Spring BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) Book Fair is coming to PEARLS! May 12 - May 16 at the PEARLS Library.
We need volunteers! Please click here: volunteer signUp. We need help all week (May 12 - May 16), especially Monday and Tuesday. Any amount of time is appreciated. If you have any questions or issues signing up, please email pearlsbookfair@gmail.com.

* Have your child go to the fair cash-free! Set up a student eWallet account for your child. Family and friends can contribute too!
* Check out the interactive book flyers: Elementary and Grades 6 and up
* Sign up to volunteer! (You can volunteer any day and even the same day that your child's class visits the Book Fair!) Use this sign-up sheet which can also be found on the Book Fair homepage or email us at pearlsbookfair@gmail.com.
Help us purchase books for those PEARLS students who cannot afford to do so during the Fair. Please see the All For Books flyer, which we will send home with your child.

REMINDER: Nominate Candidates for the 2025-2026 PEARLS PTA Executive Board
The PEARLS PTA is now accepting nominations for the 2025-2026 Executive Board Officers! The deadline to submit your nomination is Friday, May 9th!
During our Executive Board meeting on March 6, 2025, a Nominating Committee was formed to help select the most qualified candidates for each position. However, we need your help! If you are interested in serving as a PTA officer or know someone who might be, please submit their name for consideration by Friday, May 9th.
To be eligible for nomination, candidates must:
- Be a current PTA member
- Have served as a committee chair on the Executive Board for at least one year
- Be familiar with (or willing to learn) PTA goals, policies, and procedures
- Be a team player who works well with others
Please submit one nomination per position. A full list of the six Executive Committee positions, along with brief descriptions of each role, can be found on the second page of the nominating letter.
Each officer serves a one-year term, with the option to serve a second consecutive term if re-elected. All positions are open for nominations.
How to Submit a Nomination:
- Download the nominating form here, and return the completed form with your child in an envelope labeled “PTA Nominating Committee”

- Email your submission directly to pearlsnominating@gmail.com
The deadline for nominations is Friday, May 9th. Following this, we will share the slate of officers, and elections will take place at the June General Membership/Executive Board meeting.

Get ready to roll out the red carpet! We are thrilled to invite you to our Talent Show Night with a Broadway/Hollywood theme, where our talented students take center stage and families come together for an unforgettable evening.
📅 Date: May 30th, Friday
🕒 Time: Doors open at 6:00pm/Show starts promptly at 7:00pm
📍 Location: PEARLS Auditorium
What to Expect:
🎤 Incredible Performances – Watch our young stars shine as they showcase their amazing talents!
✨ Dress to Impress – Channel your inner movie star or Broadway legend. It’s your time to sparkle and shine! Families are invited to dress like they are attending the Grammys or Oscars!
🍕 Pizza & Concessions – Delicious treats will be available to keep you fueled throughout the evening.
🎁 Novelty Items – Take home fun memorabilia to celebrate the night.
This is more than just a talent show – it’s a night of glitz, glamour, and great family fun!

Please see the flyer for ticket information. Pay in Advance: $8 for adults and $4 for children. Pay at the Door: $10 adults and $5 children (CASH ONLY AT DOOR). If you want to save money and pay in advance, please fill out the form on the flyer and make checks payable to "PEARLS PTA". Cash is also accepted in advance. Place order and form in an envelope marked “PGTN” and place drop off in the PTA box in the main office no later than Friday, May 16th. Now is the time to join the PEARLS PTA. Each new member strengthens the ability of our regional and statewide PTA to advocate for policies and programs that directly benefit our children. We work with administrators and teachers to raise funds to enhance the educational and social curriculum of the school. About the PTA

What does the PEARLS PTA do?
PEARLS PTA advocates for the students of PEARLS and focuses on issues that affect them. We work with the administration and teaching staff, sponsoring various enrichment projects that enhance the educational and social curriculum of the school, such as field trips, and science, art and theatre workshops.
Why should I join PEARLS PTA?
Membership lets you make a positive impact on our children. It entitles you to vote at all general meetings and allows you to hold a position on a committee of the PTA Executive Board.
