  • Early Childhood & Elementary Resources

    • Tumblebooks – An online collection of animated, talking picture books, reading comprehension quizzes, educational games, and teacher resources.

    • Good news Additional Tumblebooks material is now available for free through August 31st
    • TumbleBookLibrary (K-6 children’s eBooks)
    • eLibrary Elementary – Easy searching of child-friendly newspapers, magazines, reference books, maps, pictures, and audio/visual content.
    • Kids InfoBits – For students in kindergarten through grade five.  It features a kid-friendly graphic interface with full-text content from elementary reference sources and magazines. Kids InfoBits covers geography, current events, the arts and sciences, people, government, history, and more.
  • Middle School & High School Resources

    • Biography in Context (in GALENET) – Contains biographies searchable by date of birth, nationality, and more. Note: Yonkers Public Library card needed to access information from home.  
    • Britannica School – A source for all grades (Pre-K-12) and all reading abilities.  Available at three levels–elementary, middle, and high.
    • Britannica Academic  – Includes Encyclopedia Britannica plus Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, magazines and periodicals, and many other research tools.
    • General Onefile (in INFOTRAC) – A one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics. Millions of full-text articles, many with images. Updated daily.
