1st Unit - Fitness Unit (9/10 - 10/4)
Fitness Unit is the first unit of the school year. We use this unit as an assessment of your students skill level and abilities. You can find all the assignments for the fitness unit on your class tile on Teams.
2nd Unit - Volleyball Unit (10/5 - 10/26)
Volleyball is the next unit in our curriculum this year. Students will be taught everything from the basics of passing in volleyball to gameplay and rules. You can find all the assignments for the fitness unit on your class tile on Teams.
3rd Unit - Football Unit (10/27 - 11/13)
The football unit comes after the volleyball unit. From learning how to throw the perfect spiral and the science behind it to cathcing a football and even the basic offensive and defensive formations, students will gain a plethora of knowledge on the sport of American Football in this unit. 4th Unit - Soccer Unit (11/16 - 12/8)
Though it is not the most popular sport in America, it is the most popular sport in the world. We will cover the long and rich history of soccer as well as the basic skill needed of becoming a good soccer player. Game play is important and will be discussed with game strategy as well. 5th Unit - Hockey Unit (12/10- 12/23)
Hockey may not be a very popular sport in our area of Westchester County but it is growing with fans and athletes that want to participate. We will skate through the history of hockey in our country and its origins. While touching on the basics of skating and sti

Basketball is one of the most popular sports in America. It is a game that can be played at any age level and it is enjoyed by many who do not even play the game themselves. We will dribble through the topic of basketball starting with its history as well as the history of the NBA. 7th Unit - Team Handball Unit (1/25 - 2/23)
In this Unit, students will become accustomed to a sport that is not nearly as popular in America as it is across the globe. With Team Handball orgins dating back to Ancient Roman Times, we will take a trip back into history to learn about the origins of the sport as well as the people who help shape it to the Olympic Sport that it is today. 8th Unit - Ultimate Frisbee Unit (2/25 - 3/12)
Even though Ultimate Firsbee is a new sport compared to other sports we have gone over thus far it is one of the most exciting. In this unit, we will go into the short history of the sport of Ulitmate Frisbee and see how it quickly became a global phenomenon. We will go over the basic skills needed to throw a frisbee as well as the rules of the game. It is a fast paced sport and an exciting one as well. 9th Unit - Baseball & Softball Unit (3/15 - 4/16)
In this unit, students will learn about what is often called "America's Pastime". We will first start with a history of baseball which started right here in the United States. Baseball is a sport that requires you to hit a fast-moving ball with a bat, then players in the field use their glove to get the ball and attempt to get the hitter out. After learning about Baseball our focus will shift to Softball and we will focus on the similarities and differences of these two sports. 10th Unit - Golf Unit (4/19 - 5/9)
In this unit students will be exposed to the world popular sport called Golf. Students will be introduced to the rich and long history of the European based sport as well as the skills and difficulty of the sport. It is a special sport that also forces the players to carry a certain type of etiquette for the course, individuals on the course and themselves. 11th Unit - Lacrosse Unit (5/10 - Present)
With the history of lacrosse rich in our countries roots from the Native Americans, we will dive into the history of one of the oldest sports in America that still is growing in popularity in the past two decades. The history of the sport which is based upon a "religion" type respect for the sport will be dissected. Basic skills such as cradling and stick handling will be introduced to the students as well.
