Dear Parents/Guardians & Students,

Happy New Year! I hope that you enjoyed your week off and that you are safe and well. As a reminder, the Yonkers Public Schools will be fully remote for the week of January 3rd through January 7th. Speech/language therapy will be conducted synchronously through Microsoft Teams. Sessions are scheduled in each student's calendar. Although I will be happy to see your child remotely, I am looking forward to our return to in-person learning.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

During the extended closure, I will be available for assistance Monday through Friday from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm.

If I need to change this time schedule, I will post it on the school website before 8:00 pm the night before.

I am your child’s speech language pathologist. I wish you good health during these times. I look forward to the day when we can go back to normal and return to School 13! I have compiled some information for your child to work on and some helpful tips to work on your child’s speech and language skills at home. Additionally, I want to stress the importance of having your child read books each day. While reading books, you can facilitate many speech and language skills such as sounding out words, responding to questions, identifying main idea and details, summarizing, sequencing activities within the story, etc.  

Click on the Assignment page: See daily assignments and look for your grade level. Ms. Schiiling's students can use the K-2 level. When you complete your work, let me know how you did and/or take a picture of your work by sending me an email.

Also, check at your emails at home. If you see in the subject area: Speech and Language, that is from me!
