Welcome to the 2022- 2023 school year in 5th Grade at School 13!

I am Ms. Spagna. I will be teaching ELA and Science to your 5th Grader! Ms. Vitulli is my grade level partner. Ms. Vitulli will be teaching Math and Social Studies. Ms. Vitulli and I work as a team and together we all are TEAM 5th Grade!

I will be available via Class Dojo or District Email LSpagna@yonkerspublicschools.org. We will be using Microsoft Teams and Clever for instruction and Class Dojo to communicate with you as well as our district emails. 

A little about your teacher...

I am a proud product of the Yonkers Public Schools. As an elementary student, I discovered my own passion for teaching from my dedicated educators and wonderful educational experience. I am honored to be a graduate of Saunders High School and IONA College, where I received both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees.

I have been teaching in the Yonkers Public Schools since 2007. I have taught various grade levels from K-6 and 9-12. I have come full circle. 

Currently, I am a 5th Grade Teacher and have been teaching 5th Grade for 10 years at School 13.

I absolutely love teaching fifth graders because they are mature, responsible and receptive to learning. I primarily teach ELA and focus on science and history content through reading and writing. I strongly believe in the power of connections with my students and their families. I strive to push my students to reach their absolute best by making them feel respected, appreciated and loved.
