My name is Michael Keneally and I am the Reading Specialist Las Hermanas Mirabal Community School in Yonkers, New York.  I have been a teacher for 19 years and have loved all of the opportunities that it has afforded me.  The relationships that I am able to develop with students and their families have made every struggle in this profession worthwhile! 

Being the Reading Specialist on staff gives me a unique opportunity to see children grow in a very unique way.  Reading is a necessary foundational skill that students use through all of their academic areas.  When students are effective readers they become life -long learners!
