Welcome to Mrs. Correa's 2020-2021 4th Grade Class
Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Correa obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY New Paltz and a Masters Degree from CUNY City College. Mrs. Correa started teaching in 1995 as a bilingual teacher. She began working for the Yonkers Public Schools District in 2007. She has taught 4th grade at Hostos since 2011. She looks forward to an academic year full of learning and growth in every student.
We are starting the school year virtually on September 8th. I will contact you with more information as the day gets closer. I am looking forward to working with all families so that we may have the smoothest opening possible. Please stay positive! We will have an excellent year.
Students: I plan to use Microsoft Teams to hold class meetings and online instruction. You will use it to submit all of your work and any questions you may have. This is for student communication only. Also, many assignments will be on CLEVER.
Parents: I plan on using ClassDojo to communicate with parents only. I will post updates and send you messages through this app. I will also try my best to award points to your children and provide feedback about their work with you here. If you need to reach me this is the best way.
On the sidebar go to ClassDojo and use link to connect with me.
On the sidebar to go Emergency Cards: Please click on the link to fill out the emergency card digitally. Then email it to me and Iwill send it to the office.
ClassDojo (preferred if you are a parent)
email@example.com (preferred for students)
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. It is going to take some time and patience on everyone's part but this school year can be great if we all remain positive and do our best!
Supplies: As of right now, the only supplies I am asking for are:
1- a laptop for your child
2- a whiteboard and dry erase markers so your child can write answers and show them to me when on a team/class meeting. If you cannot find one you can use a white piece of paper and slide into a page protector. Then clip that onto a clipboard. You can always use a clean sock or a clean old cotton t-shirt cut up into pieces, like an eraser.
***once school starts (students are not allowed to use shared supplies- they must have their own which will have to go back home with them each day)
- hard plastic pencil case or a soft one that you can wash at home
- colored pencils
- 1 folder
- a few notebooks (any type)
-masks (clean one for each day)
-hand sanitizer (contains 70% alcohol)
-Lysol disinfecting spray
- paper towels
- antibacterial hand soap
