Hello parents and students!

Welcome to a new school year.  I am so excited to have your child in my first grade class! The students will be learning new information and skills each day.  Our main goal is for your child to read on grade level. Reading will help expand their vocabulary and achieve academic success. 

I will be using Class DoJo to communicate with parents about important announcements and homework assignment. You can also message me here with any questions or concerns.  Please make sure to check Class DoJo daily for new posts and information.  

Please log in to Clever and explore the various educational online resources that are available. Book Flix & One More Story are good readaloud apps for the children. Click on Ms.DiSalvo's class page and you will find additional links posted for our class. Many of these apps will be used for homework assignments. We will be using Benchmark, Happy Numbers, Sumdog, Read Works, reading A-Z, Brain Pop Jr. frequently. Please get your child comfortable signing onto Clever and using the apps.

Homework sheets are given out every Monday. Please be sure to help your child with their homework daily and read the books they bring home in their reading rocks bag. This is going to be a great school year and I am looking forward to watching your child grow academiclly this year.
