My name is Annette Fumarelli. I am the Reading Teacher here at Westchester Hills School 29. This is my 26th year working in Yonkers. I service students who are eligible for Title 1 services. As the reading teacher, I support students who require extra support with reading in grades 1-4. Students are taken out of their classrooms to work with me in small groups in my reading lab. In addition, I also go into classrooms and support teachers with their students who may be in need of extra support. Our job is to provide your child with reading strategies and instruction to help him/her be successful in the classroom.

The selection of students who receive Title 1 reading services is based upon the following criteria:

*Students who score below state levels on the English Language Arts State test given in April.

*Students who score below district levels on the MAP Assessment (Measure of Academic Progress) given in September & June.

*Eligible students will work in small groups outside the classroom to focus on areas of need.
