PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASS EXPECTATIONS

Physical Education Class Expectations
1. All students are required to wear appropriate athletic sneakers for Physical Education class. This is very important for student safety. As students get older, they should assume responsibility for making sure they are prepared for class. However, please offer them guidance and assistance in helping them in this very important matter. In case of inclement weather, students may wish to bring their sneakers to school in their book bags and then change into them prior to Physical Education class. Failure to wear sneakers may have an impact on a student's grade.
2. It is recommended that students wear comfortable clothes on days that they have Physical Education class. Girls should try to avoid wearing skirts or dresses on days their class has Physical Education.
3. Each student should come to class with their own water bottle. It is recommended that the bottle be made of metal or plastic. Glass bottles will not be permitted in the gym. It is recommended that students put their name or initials on the bottle as many bottles look alike.
4. Students are expected to try their best during the activities. Students are expected to work outside their comfort zone and try some games/activities that they are not familiar with.
5. Students are expected to show good sportsmanship in activities. They are expected to respect others, their teacher and the equipment.
6. It is no longer required to wear masks in school but some parents/students might still want to wear them. While wearing a mask makes it more difficult to exercise, students should still wear them if they or their parents feel that it is necessary. Mask breaks will be provided. If a student is a need of a mask break, they should raise their hand with their thumb and pinky finger sticking up. This is the Mask Break Signal. Coach will then assign that student to one of the Mask Break Zones in the gym. The GIF at the bottom of the page is what the signal should look like. I will do whatever I can to help your student feel more comfortable wearing a mask while in Physical Education class. Please email if there is anything that I can do to help.
