• 1st Unit - Fitness Unit

Fitness Unit is the first unit of the school year.  We use this unit as an assessment of your students' skill level and abilities when compared to the Five Components of Fitness and Health. The five components are Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, Cardiovascular Fitness, Flexibility and Body Composition. Grades will not be based upon what the students can or can not do but solely on the effort that they put forth during the lessons.

    2nd Unit - Soccer Unit

The soccer unit is the first unit that we can see how our students work together within the class as peers, teammates and opponents. We Will spend a few classes mastering the skills necessary to be successful during the soccer unit.  Using passing, dribbling, shooting and team concepts of space utilization, students will learn how to compete in the most popular sport in the world.

    3rd Unit - Volleyball

Bump! Set! Spike! One of the most popular units throughout the school year, volleyball is a sport where, no matter your child's skill level, they will have an opportunity to have fun, and become successful at completing the skills necessary to be considered proficient at the sport. The first few days of the unit the skills of bumping, setting and serving will be covered.  Court boundaries and gameplay rules will follow.  After that, game on.  Students love the volleyball unit and the ability to modify the game with different sized volleyballs for the younger grades gives all the students a sense of accomplishment when they are successful at the above-discussed drills.

    4th Unit - Team Handball

In this unit we will be discussing and participating in one of the most popular sports in Europe. Using throwing and catching and the sport-specific rules for handball, students will become highly successful at working as a team to become successful at Team Handball. Again, like the soccer unit utilizing space and offensive and defensive team concepts, students will take advantage of the opportunities given to them by the opponents to win Team Handball matches.
