Class of 2027 Welcome Letter - Spanish

Mrs. Daisy Alcivar, MSED, School Counselor

Hello! I am excited to be the 9th and 10th grade school counselor at Palisade Preparatory School.  I am a graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University (now known as Utica College) and Long Island University, where I earned my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Spanish and my Master's in Science in Education in Bilingual School Counseling. I am a Certified School Counselor. In recent years, I served as a School Counselor in Long Island, NY and most recently I served as a Leave Replacement for the 11th grade cohort at Roosevelt High School Early College Studies for Yonkers Public Schools.

It is my passion and purpose to help students and families. I am committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of each member of the student body as they develop into successful and productive citizens. My support services are provided in collaboration with school administration, the school counseling department, school psychologist, social worker, and our outside agencies. My goal is to foster healthy peer relationships, social emotional well-being, and promote academic success and growth among all our students.

I have close ties to Yonkers; as I was born and raised here and I am also a proud mother of two wonderful children, both of whom are students in the district. I love being able to build relationships with many families as a parent and as a counselor. I enjoy traveling, watching the latest movies, spending time with my family, and advocating for mental health and breaking the stigma surrounding it.

I look forward to continuing to form relationships and working with students and families.
