Hello,

My name is Christine Figueroa and I will be your child's first grade teacher.  The 2024-2025 school year will be my 26th year teaching at School 16.  I have taught grades Pre-k-3rd grade. 

I have two children of my own.  Samantha, who is 14 and is a sophomore in high-school, and Madison, who is 9 and is in fourth grade. My husband is also a teacher in Yonkers and teaches fifth grade. I enjoy spending time with my family along with traveling.  Our favorite places to visit are Disney World and the Bahamas.

This year we will build on all the skills your child learned last year.  My goal is to create a stress-free, fun learning environment.  I believe that as long as the children try their best, then they will succeed!
