HAPPY LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

We did it, 3R! Congratulations on doing a wonderful job during this unusual and challenging year. I am so proud of each and every one of you for your hard work, dedication, and positive attitude. You accomplished something that has never been done before! For that, you should feel very proud. Having to adjust to uncertainty and constant changes is a lesson this year has taught all of us, and one that I know will serve you well in the future. I will miss seeing you each day, but I will always look back on this year and be so grateful for our amazing class and the time we had together. Be sure to enjoy your summer! Keep reading, writing, and practicing your math facts. Have fun with your families, spend time outside in nature, and do the things that bring you joy. You deserve it. Thank you for all of your support this year. I wish you health and happiness always.

Love,

Mrs. Rimali

Cohort A: Please look out for my email tonight which will have important information and instructions about tomorrow, Monday October 5th. If your child is in Cohort A and you do not receive an email from me it is because I do not have a correct email address for you. In that case, please email me at lrimali@yonkerspublicschools.org and/or check the Hybrid Reopening Plan on the School Five website.

Cohort B: Since you will be coming to the school building on Thursday and Friday, I will be sending an email Wednesday night giving you the same information and instructions.

For everyone: If you have any questions at all please email me at lrimali@yonkerspublicschools.org

This new schedule is sure to bring some challenges, but I am confident that whatever issues may arise, we will solve them together so that all of the students have the best possible education and experience. You all have been doing a truly incredible job. Thank you for all of your cooperation, support, and kindness. I am really excited to begin this new phase with you tomorrow.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Welcome to the 2020 - 2021 School Year!

My name is Mrs. Rimali and I teach third grade. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you! Please check this page regularly for updates, instructions, and assignments. As we start this year remotely, I know there are many questions and uncertainties. Remember, we are all in this together and whatever challenges come our way, we will figure them out.  My goal in the coming days and weeks is to learn about your child, the best way to reach you, and how I can help to make this transition easier. I look forward to communicating with all of you very soon!

Our first class will be on Tuesday, September 8th, 2020 on Microsoft Teams. The first step is making sure your child can get onto Teams. You will access Teams by signing into Clever using your student ID followed by @yonkerspublicschools.org. ex: "IDnumber@yonkerspublicschools.org". Your child's password in their birth date (mm/dd/yyyy) Once in Clever, find the OFFICE 365 app. Next, click the TEAMS icon at the top.  Please click on the link below for further instructions on how to access Microsoft Teams.

Click here for directions for using Microsoft Teams

I will be sending you an email with further information on Friday, September 4th. Please reply to this email so I know you received it. If you have not received an email from me by 3pm on Friday, September 4th, please email me so I have a contact for you.

Although this year is starting in a new way, I know we will be successful as long as we remember that patience and cooperation will help us achieve our goals.

Our lessons will be consisting of live lessons on Microsoft Teams followed by independent work to be done in Clever. Our new Reading program is Benchmark. In addition, we will eventually be using Nearpods, Sumdog, and various other programs. I will provide instructions as we go along so don't become overwhelmed!

To start, just practice getting onto Microsoft Teams so we can all meet there on Tuesday!

Schedule for Tuesday, September 8th, 2020

Our Teams meeting will be "Welcome to Third Grade."

I will be conducting this meeting at 9:35am and then again at 10:15am and 12pm. You do not need to attend all 3 meetings, but you must attend one of them. The goal of this meeting is to introduce ourselves, establish rules and expectations, and get to know each other.

Remember to look for my email and have a great holiday weekend!
