In order to Return to School Safely In-Person on Monday, January 10, 2022, Yonkers Public School district is distributing home COVID-19 rapid tests for each student. Tests can be picked up from our school tomorrow, Wednesday January 5th and Thursday, January 6th. In order to social distance, please pick-up kits using the following schedule:

Pre-k; K and 1st grade kits may be picked up from 9:30-11:00.

Grades 2nd through 5th grade may pick up their kits from 11:00-12:00

Grades 6 through 8th  may pick up their kits from 12:30 -2:00 pm

Each box has 2 test kits that parents/guardians must use to test their child on Sunday, January 9 and Monday, January 17, 2022. If your child’s test result is positive, take a picture of the results and email it to our school nurse at chamilton@yonkerspublicschools.org and assistant principal at dcarolina@yonkerspublicschools.org. Please also notify the teacher. The child cannot attend school and MUST isolate for 10 days. If the positive child has a sibling who attends the Yonkers Public Schools and is unvaccinated, they must also quarantine for 10 days. Your child does not need a test if they had a positive COVID-19 test result within the last 90 days. Videos to administer the CareStart™ – COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test can be found using the link on the flyer. Flyers will be provided at pick-up and can also be located on the school webpage. All kits not picked up by families will be sent back to district on Thursday. If you have any questions, contact the school at 376-8969.

Hello Students and Families,

The students have been adjusting nicely to the new school year.  As the new school year continues, I want to remind families to please make sure the Emergeny Early Dismissal Approval and the Media Release Forms are returned to me.  Also, if you have not sent in school supplies for your child, please do so at your earliest convenience.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me anytime.  For the families who cannot attend Open House night tonight, I will reach out to you to schedule a phone meeting where you can ask questions about the class, the schedule and curriculum, and anything else.  Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Ms. Koffer
