Students are expected to work hard and to the best of their abilities. As your child’s teacher, I am confident that each and every student will strive to do their best. Students will accomplish and reach all of their goals. As parents, I request that you continue to motivate and encourage your child to reach his or her goals and to continue to work hard everyday.
Homework is an important tool used to assess student understanding of material presented that day. Homework shows both the teacher and the student whether or not the student clearly understands the lesson. It is important that homework is done on a daily basis and is checked by a parent or guardian. This shows your interest in school and helps your child to learn responsibility, organization and good study habits. Homework will also involve studying for quizzes and exams. I encourage parental cooperation to help your child learn how and when to study.
Homework will be assigned every night, Monday through Friday. Students will receive a weekly reading log and a math handout based on the lesson taught in class. Each student will have a Homework Folder to hold messages, homework and handouts. Homework Folders should be in school everyday.
I understand that situations and emergencies do occur. If for any reason there is a problem or situation that causes incomplete homework on a particular evening, please write a brief note and the homework can be made up at another time. I am quite flexible in this matter.
