Classroom Expectations

  • Our class made classroom expectations together by creating a Classrooom Charter*. Our charter is a promise to each other based on the feelings we want to feel in school. We then agreed upon norms, or behaviors, based on our values that would allow those feelings to exist in school. We all signed a contract to take equal ownership in upholding our classroom promises.

Homework Policy

  • Students are given homework assignments for the week on Monday. Students have the entire week to complete their assignments. This allows for flexbility in student/family schedules and planning/organization at home. Parents are expected to sign that each assignment has been completed by the students as independently as possible.

    Reading Logs:

Students are expected to read a text for at least 20 minutes each night. Texts should be accessible for students to read indepdently. See chart below for how to help your child choose a "Just Right" book.
