Mr. Cyrus Shojai
Mr. Shojai serves as the 11th-grade Assistant Principal of Charles E. Gorton High School. Prior to joining Gorton, Mr. Shojai was a Special-Education teacher at the Hallen School and at P.S. 41 in the Bronx (NYC DOE). In 2015, Mr. Shojai joined the Yonkers Public Schools district as a sixth-grade teacher. With over 13 years in education, Mr. Shojai is dedicated to fostering a conducive learning environment built on the principles of inclusiveness, equity, and rigor for all stakeholders.
Mr. Shojai obtained a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Central Connecticut State University in 2009. Recognizing his true calling, Mr. Shojai earned a Master of Science in Teaching with a dual certification in Special Education and Elementary from Fordham University in 2012. Mr. Shojai received a Master of Science in Educational Leadership degree from Bank Street College. With a commitment to creating a space where every student feels empowered, Mr. Shojai strives to ensure that educational opportunities are accessible to all.
Mr. Shojai is a fluent Farsi speaker. He was raised and currently lives in the City of Yonkers, where he enjoys spending his personal time with his daughter, Mila, and their dog, Mickey.
