Mrs. Michele Lotto
Good Day,
My hours are as follows: Monday to Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. All assignments are posted daily on Schoology, which all students have access too as we utilize this application in class. Should any student need to speak with me, they can message me through Schoology or my email, MLotto@yonkerspublicschools.org. All assignments must be typed. No photographed pictures of any assignments will be an accepted form of submission.
Every student in the Yonkers Public Schools is given a free Miscorsoft account on which they can download Microsoft Office on any computer at home, maximum 5 downloads to help with distance learning.
What is Schoology and Why Use It?
A learning management system (LMS) that connects all the people, content, and systems that fuel education. Schoology is like a teacher's website or an extension of their classroom online. Announcements, special dates, discussions, lessons, videos, etc. could all be on my teacher's Schoology page. Students are enrolled in Schoology by the school through our PowerSchool, student information system. Students log into Clever to access Schoology.
Schoology is communication between teacher, student and parent. Parents also have the option to email me at mlotto@yonkerspublicschools.org.
How Do Parents Check Grades?
I use the district program PowerSchool for my grades. At the beginning of the year, letters were sent home with each student’s specific code for PowerSchool. Many parents don’t know this and this is something I do not have. You would need to call Central Office and request it. A loop hole is that you can down load the PowerSchool app and have your child login with their school computer username and password, just like for Schoology.
Thank You for Your Involvement
I hope you found this information helpful. We all need to adjust to online learning and patience is required. Please feel free to reach out and ask questions and keep up with what your children are doing in their classes.
