    School Mission

    Robert C. Dodson School embraces the diverse cultures and languages of our students. We are dedicated to fostering an environment that empowers our students to critically think, lead with confidence, and demonstrate resilience. We cultivate a respectful, collaborative and joyful community where all voices are heard and valued.

    Collective Commitments

    As a staff, we agree to: 

    1. Use a variety of instructional strategies to teach the essential learnings of the YPS curricula. 

    1. Create a school environment that includes extracurricular activities to support the development of the “whole student.” 

    1. Engage in meaningful, job-embedded staff development to improve collaborative teaching strategies to increase student learning and achievement. 

    1. Honor and celebrate the diversity of our students, staff, and community, ensuring that every individual feels accepted, included, and heard in our school environment. 

    1. Provide parents with resources, strategies and information to help students succeed. 

     

    SCEP Student Achievement Goals

    1. By June 2025, we will reduce the number of chronically absent students by 10%. 

    1. By June 2025, we will decrease the number of teachers rated developing in APPR standards: 2.2.B, 3.2.B, 3.5.A by 10%. 

    1. By June 2025, the number of students demonstrating proficiency on: 

      • The NYS ELA exam will increase by 4% 

      • MAP testing scores (K-2) will increase by 4% 

    1. By June 2025, we will increase the number of students that score commanding by 5% on the New York State NYSESLAT. 

    1. By 2025, we will increase family involvement and engagement by 5% as measured by parent attendance (in-person and virtual) at PTA meetings.
