Mr. Harry Hall
High School Research Science Teacher
My goals are to provide an atmosphere for young people to become actively engaged in the sciences, provide students with hands on laboratory work and foster a love of science.
I have been teaching at Saunders since October of 1994. I started teaching AP Chemistry and Survey Biology. Since then I have taught AP Environmental Science, Chemical Technology 11 and 12, Environmental Technology 11 and 12, and Science Regents Competency Test Preparation.
Prior to teaching I worked at Cornell University Medical Center, Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center as a research scientist. I participated in the design, troubleshooting and performance of research examining the relationship of the Human Papilloma Virus and growth factors using various radio-immuno assays to quantify receptor expression, down regulation, synthesis, and various molecular biological techniques to examine receptor gene expression. I also studied insulin like growth factors role in breast cancer in particularly how it impacts the cell cycle, cyclin expression and signal transduction. At Cornell I studied the binding properties of several tobacco proteins to various cells to determine tissue specificity.
