Education in the City of Yonkers is primed to soar to new heights! Our students’ success is reliant on the professional caring support provided every day by Yonkers civil service employees. I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing summer vacation, and are ready for a productive school year.
Reminders for all 10-month and hourly Civil Service employees:
- Please note the first day of work is Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
- Hourly employees will participate in professional development as well as work to support the needs of our school administrators.
Attention Bus Monitors: The Transportation Department is ready to assign bus routes in accordance with the agreement made with the leadership of the bargaining unit following seniority rules. All must cover assignments will be completed Monday and Tuesday, August 28 and 29 (Link to Bus Monitor Route Bidding Process 2017/18). Information regarding individual’s assigned date and time to select a bus route as well as instructions for the process will be mailed by August 25. Please note, this information is available now by calling the Transportation Department. Starting Wednesday, August 23, all available bus runs can be reviewed at the Transportation Department in preparation for route selection beneficial to our students, schools, and you.
This process will personally be monitored by Dr. Quezada. Our ultimate goal is to support our employees so they can effectively support the needs of our students.
A reminder for bus monitors, the mandated 2 hour New York State refresher training sessions are scheduled for August 31 and September 1, 5, and 6. Training date and time will be distributed on August 28 or 29.
