Mr. Doczynski
I would like to welcome everyone to the 2023-2024 academic school year. This is my 18th year teaching here at Riverside High School, and I look forward to another exciting year with your child in math. Email is the fastest means of communication for myself as well as most parents. I can be reached at any time throughout the day at mdoczynski@yonkerspublicschools.org. If there is a more important matter that you would like to speak to me directly about, please call the school at 914-376-8425 and I will return your call as soon as possible. If your child needs extra help in math, I will be available every Wednesday from 2:30-3:15 in room 214. If it is not possible for your son or daughter to get extra help on a Wednesday, please have them speak with me privately to arrange a day that works for both of us. I will do my best to accommodate any request for a day other than Wednesday.
Students must obey the following rules upon entering my class:
- Treat everyone in the room with respect, starting with yourself
- Raise your hand and wait to be called on if you wish to say something
- No electronic devices / No headphones or AirPods / No hats
- Remain in your seat at all times
Students are required to have the following items on a daily basis:
- A positive attitude toward math
- Two pencils and two pens
- A notebook dedicated to math (black & white, spiral, or binder)
- Loose-leaf and graph paper
Your child’s grade will be calculated as follows:
- Assessments 60%
- Homework 20%
- Participation 20%
I anticipate a successful year in math with your child and I welcome any questions or concerns you have throughout the entire school year.
Sincerely,
Mr. Michael Doczynski
