Hello, I have been working for Yonkers Public Schools since 2000 as a reading specialist. Within the past twenty years here, I have taught in elementary, middle and high schools developing a love for literature and deeper understanding of content through various genres. Before that, I was a classroom teacher in New York City. I have developed curriculum and taught gifted programs in NYC as well as on Long Island. My strength though is working with students that struggle with compehension and writing. Being able to comprehend and write are crucial for the development of all students as reading is in all of our lives. My plan is for all of my students to go onto a higher level of education after high school whether it is college or a trade school so that she or he is independent.
