Mr. Louis Curcio

Dear Parents,
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your help and support throughout our school closure.  I am extremely proud of the way all my students adjusted to "home schooling" and online assignments.  We all worked together to make the best of an unprecedented situation.  As the school year comes to a close, here are some important dates and information:
Tuesday, June 16th, 9 AM to 12 PM:  School 21 will be collecting all borrowed computers from those families who had limited technology during school closure.   Families with limited technology this summer will also have the opportunity to pick up summer packets.  This is also the last day for families to pick up their children's personal belongings.
Thursday, June 18th:  Last day of school.
Third marking period report cards will be mailed out.  These report cards will be based  on a "P" (pass) or "F" (fail) evaluation.  You can also gain access to your child's report card through the Yonkers Public Schools Powerschool Parent Portal.  For more information about this, please visit my home page on the School 21 website under "How to Access Student Grades."
District online summer packets will be available to download through the School 21 website on my home page.
Have a wonderful summer!
Mr. Curcio

Mother's Day

On May 7th, I sent out an email through Castle Learning asking my students to create cards, notes, or artwork dedicated to their mothers for Mother's Day.  I have viewed a number of my students' cards and drawings and I was impressed and moved by their messages of love and appreciation!  I will post my original email below in case any student would like to continue to work on this and please feel free to submit your work to me.  I know Mother's Day has passed, but there is no time limit on honoring mom!

This Sunday is Mother's Day! I encourage all my students to create a card, write a note, or even draw a picture that shows how much you love and appreciate your mom.

**Chapter Book Reading**  Charlotte's Web is one of my favorite books to read with my class at the end of the school year.  I have done this with my students for a long time and I am not going to stop this tradition.  Students will be responsible to read one chapter a day and answer questions about that chapter.  They can send me their answers through the Castle Learning message board or send me an email.  I will read your answers daily.  The chapter questions will be posted everyday.  It is important to keep up with the reading.

Some of you may have read the book - I have read it many times and still enjoy it.

Some of you may have watched the movie - The movie is good, but the book is so much better.  Trust me.

Read the chapters with mom, dad, sister, brother, or someone else.  I'm sure they will enjoy that.

Copy the link below and paste it into a new window to access the book:

Classroom Cleanup Information

Dear Parents,

On Wednesday, May 27th, I will be cleaning out my classroom and allowing parents an opportunity to pick up their child's valuable belongings.  Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, each teacher has been assigned a day for cleanup to limit the amount of people in the building and allow for proper social distancing.  If your child has valuable items in the classroom that you would like to retrieve for him/her, you can pick them up between 10:30 AM and 12:00 noon on Wednesday, May 27th, in the main office. It is important that you come during this time as it has been specifically designated for our class, again, to limit the amount of people in the building at once.
As you are aware, our class trip to Sportime USA was cancelled.  So, this is also an opportunity to refund any money to families who paid for our class trip.  My list of those families is in my classroom.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding Classroom Cleanup Day, please email me.
As always, thank you for your continued support!
Mr. Curcio

Attention all School 21 Families!!

Computer Return is Tuesday 6/16 from 9:00am-12:00pm

This will also be the last day to pick up personal belongings!

Summer Packets will be available for pick up that day as well, for those that don't have available technology.
