    Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the new school year.  Your support is greatly needed in order to ensure a successful school year.

Your cooperation is needed with the following:

Uniforms:  School 21 is a uniform school.  The School 21 uniform consists of white top and navy blue bottom.

Absence Notes:  Please send a note/email each time your child is absent.

Supplies:  Make sure that all supplies are labeled with your child's name.

Behavior:  Appropriate school behavior is required at all times. No disruptions to the learning process will be tolerated.  Please do not allow your child to bring any toys, cards, or electronic devices to school.

Gym:  Students will participate in gym instruction on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Please make sure that your child has the approprite footwear on those days.

Homework:  Homework assignments and parent information will be posted at the School 21 website.  Homework will be given every night, including weekends and vacations.  In addition, your child must read for at least 20 minutes each day.  I cannot stress enough the importance of reading on a daily basis, for reading is a crucial component of academic success.  Please visit my homepage at the School 21 website daily for updated information.

Dismissal:  Students who do not take the school bus will be dismissed from Exit 3 beginning at 2:50 p.m. daily.

Please note:  If your child will be picked up early, will not be taking the bus in the afternoon, or is being picked up by anyone other than the individuals listed on the student's emergency card, a written note must be brought to school notifying school personnel of any changes to your child's regular dismissal procedure.

Communication:  Please send a note/email with any concerns regarding your child or to request a meeting at any time during the school year.  Communication and collaboration are important tools to help our students succeed.  I look forward to a wonderful year together!
