• Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society:  LHS Chapter

     

    Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society is a national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the field of Social Studies. Students are invited to become a part of our Honor Society chapter at the completion of their sophomore year if they have fulfilled the requirements for membership.  There is an induction ceremony for new members.

  • Membership Requirements & Maintaining “Active Status”

    ¨ Must be a Junior or a Senior in high school

    ¨ Maintain an 80 or higher in each Social Studies class

    ¨ Maintain an overall GPA of 80 or higher *

    ¨ Completion of community service each semester *

    ¨ Completion of Seal of Civic Readiness in 12th Grade (individually or with a group)

    ¨ Satisfactory attendance in classes

        

    Please note: 

    * Members must maintain an 80 or above in Social Studies classes and for overall GPA

    * Failure to maintain status can lead to “inactive status”

  • Upcoming Events:

    • Thursday, September 5, 2024:  All students report to school:  Full day of classes for all students

     

    • Thursday, October 17, 2024:  RHO KAPPA New Member Invitations will be distributed in Social Studies classes (membership requirements must be satisfied to receive an invitation)

     

    • Thursday, November 14, 2024:  RHO KAPPA 2024-2025 Induction Ceremony in the LHS Auditorium.  Families are welcome to attend this Induction ceremony.

     

    • Friday, November 15, 2024:  All members will wear their Rho Kappa shirts.

     

    • Thursday, January 9. 2025:  Decorate the SS Hall:  Team building social activity.  Please wear your Rho Kappa tshirt.

     

    • TBA:  Community service teams will establish goals & advertising.
