Parents/Guardians who wish to educate their children at home shall annually provide written notice to the district of their intention by July 1 of the approaching school year. Parents who determine to educate their children at home after the start of the school year, or who establish residence in the school district after the start of the school year, shall provide written notice of their intention within 14 days of beginning home instruction.

Within four weeks of the receipt of materials from the district regarding home instruction procedures, parents/guardians must complete and submit to the district an individual home instruction plan (IHIP). The IHIP must outline the educational goals to be met and the course materials and syllabi to be used each year for the child's learning process.
