The Portrait

  • Art and Identity-Portraiture: People and Places in Time Yonkers Public School students from School 17 took a journey through time and space to explore a popular and enduring art form, “The Portrait.” The Hudson River Museum, with support provided by Art Bridges, created a unique experience entitled “Art and Identity-Portraiture: People and Places in Time.” Students were exposed to museum masterpieces, mixed media, and a richly restored mansion. This uniquely scaffolded lesson included instruction, discussion and a hands on arts workshop.
