The Yonkers Board of Education is the official policy making body of the School District. The Trustees are appointed by the Mayor.

Public Participation

The Trustees of the Yonkers Board of Education welcome comments from the community at their Stated Meetings. Members of the public, employees of the District, and others wishing to address the Board must register online in advance to speak during the Communications from the Community sessions held at 5:30 p.m. prior to the monthly Stated Meeting. Register to speak online is available beginning the Monday prior to each Stated Meeting or onsite before the meeting by 5:00 p.m.

Stated Meetings are generally held on the third Wednesday of the month in the Angelo E. Paradiso Auditorium at Saunders Trades and Technical High School. Agenda abstracts of Board meetings are available to the public on the District’s website, Board of Education meetings are televised on the District’s educational channel WDMC-TV– Optimum 75 and Verizon FiOS 38, and available on the District’s website.

Committee meetings are usually held in the 4th Floor Board Room, One Larkin Center, Yonkers, New York.
