EDUC 1101: Introduction to Education
- Welcome to Introduction to Education.
This is a college preparatory course in which we will study Montessori philosophy, ideology, pedagogy, and practicum. We will work on developing skills for college readiness as well as engaging in developing leadership, organization, and communication skills. We will work on community building skills and engage in community service. We will engage in a study of diversity and equity in education and in society.
Assignments will be posted in Schoology and will be submitted in Schoology.
Students may send me a message through Schoology or in an e-mail with any questions or concerns. Parents may also contact me through e-mail at sgovernali@yonkerspublicschools.org.
It is advised that parents and guardians regularly log into Power School, read posted assignments, and check their child’s progress. Parents are encouraged to communicate with me by sending me e-mail messages. Additionally, if other forms of communication are preferred, I may be reached by leaving a message with the main office at 914-376-8540.
I am excited for the year ahead. I look forward to this great learning experience that lies before us. I am so glad we are on this journey together. At YMA we are "Better Together".
Sincerely,
Ms. Governali
