    Michael Mastromarco

    Mr. Mastromarco has been a secondary science teacher for the Yonkers Public Schools for 27 years.  He is a certified teacher of Biology and general science 7-12 with an extension to teach gifted and talented education.  He has taught 7th grade science to academically talented students and Biology and Forensic science at the high school level.  At the middle school, he was the head coach for the school’s Science Olympiad team. Currently, Mr. Mastromarco is the science department chair at Yonkers Montessori Academy and is an adjunct professor at Iona University in both the science and education departments.  He has written and implemented curriculum in forensic science for the Yonkers Public Schools and created curriculum maps in the living environment.  He instructs his college students on the best ways to present science education to their students by demonstrating exemplar work and focusing on project-based learning.
