Yonkers High School Students Join SUNY Officials With an Important Message

  • "We are dedicated to providing our students with the support they need to navigate
the financial aid process successfully and take the next critical step
    toward their higher education goals."
    --- Superintendent Aníbal Soler, Jr.

  • (May 1, 2024) Aníbal Soler hit the ground running on his first day as Superintendent of Yonkers Public Schools. Joined by SUNY Senior Vice Chancellor Donna Linderman,  Deputy Mayor Sue Gerry, and Board of Trustees Rev. Steven Lopez, Mr. Soler met with college-bound students to discuss the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The Class of 2024 is 1790 graduating seniors strong; almost 44% have completed these applications to date.

Superintendent Soler remarked, "we are dedicated to providing our students with the support they need to navigate the financial aid process successfully and take the next critical step toward their higher education goals."

It was a great conversation about how to make applying more accessible and how it can influence college decisions.

The District has worked hard to provide guidance and district-wide events to ensure our kids can go to the colleges they want to attend.
