The Right to Read Documentary Screening

  • Yonkers Public Schools will present a special community screening and discussion of the documentary, The Right to Read, produced by LeVar Burton (Reading Rainbow, Roots, Star Trek: The Next Generation) on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 9:30 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at the Yonkers Public Library Riverfront Theater, One Larkin Center, Yonkers.

    This captivating documentary shares the inspiring stories of an NAACP activist, a devoted teacher, and two American families who are fighting for everyone’s right to read.

    The program is presented in collaboration with i-Ready Curriculum Associates, MBK Yonkers, and the Basics. Dr. Cynthia Palmer, Director of Library Services for the Yonkers Public Schools, is your host.
